Understand the connection

B vitamins help support the metabolic processes that maintain bone and its connective-tissue framework. Folate, B12, and B6 also participate in homocysteine pathways.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser connects B12 with bone-building cells and folate and B6 with methylation and collagen-related metabolism. Elevated homocysteine is one research connection, rather than a complete explanation for osteoporosis.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask whether testing confirms a nutrient deficiency and whether diet, digestion, medicines, or another cause needs attention. Discuss bone-density findings and fracture prevention alongside nutrient replacement.
