Understand the connection

CREST is an older term for a pattern of limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis. The condition can involve blood vessels, skin, digestion, and other organs.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser connects endothelial changes, immune signals, TGF-beta-related fibrosis, and Raynaud’s phenomenon. Tissue scarring and inflammatory activity are related but do not mean every symptom has the same cause.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask which organs need screening and how lung, heart, digestive, and vascular findings will be monitored. Discuss symptom management with a rheumatology clinician.
