Understand the connection

Dupilumab, sold as Dupixent, is a prescribed antibody medicine that acts on IL-4 receptor alpha. This affects the signaling of both IL-4 and IL-13.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser connects this target with type 2 inflammation, eosinophilic and allergic conditions, and why a targeted medicine differs from broad immune suppression. Which conditions, ages, and dosing schedules are approved can change and should be checked with the prescribing clinician.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask how the diagnosed condition supports this choice, what response to expect, and what monitoring is needed. Discuss injection reactions, eye symptoms, other possible effects, and access or cost questions before starting.
