Understand the connection

IL-2 helps immune cells grow and communicate. It supports activated T cells and also regulatory T cells that help prevent excessive immune responses.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser connects IL-2 with immune activation, immune tolerance, and the receptor alpha chain CD25, also called IL2RA. Soluble IL-2 receptor is a related blood marker, rather than another name for IL-2 itself.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask which result is being discussed: a genetic variant, a measured protein level, or a diagnosed condition. How does it fit with your symptoms and other tests? Dr. Purser discusses antioxidant support alongside these pathways; ask how any supplement would fit with your medicines and care plan.
