Understand the connection

IL-21 is produced by immune cells including follicular helper T cells and Th17 cells. It influences B cells, antibody responses, and other parts of adaptive immunity.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser explains IL-21 receptor signaling through JAK and STAT proteins, including STAT3. He discusses how ongoing immune activation can affect tissues and why treatment questions depend on a confirmed clinical condition.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask which result is being discussed: a genetic variant, a measured protein level, or a diagnosed condition. How does it fit with your symptoms and other tests? Dr. Purser discusses antioxidant support alongside these pathways; ask how any supplement would fit with your medicines and care plan.
