Understand the connection

IL2RA encodes CD25, the alpha chain of the IL-2 receptor. It helps cells respond to IL-2 and participates in both immune activation and regulation.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser explains the role of CD25 on activated T cells and regulatory T cells. A soluble form can enter the blood as sIL2R or sCD25, which is a marker of immune activity rather than a diagnosis by itself.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask which result is being discussed: a genetic variant, a measured protein level, or a diagnosed condition. How does it fit with your symptoms and other tests? Dr. Purser discusses antioxidant support alongside these pathways; ask how any supplement would fit with your medicines and care plan.
