Understand the connection

Primary ovarian insufficiency describes reduced ovarian function before age 40. It can have genetic, immune, treatment-related, or unexplained causes.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser explores immune signaling, including IL-17 and other cytokines, in the ovarian environment. These are possible research connections rather than proof that one cytokine explains an individual’s ovarian function.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask how hormone tests, symptoms, and the clinical history support the diagnosis and whether genetic or autoimmune testing is appropriate. Discuss bone health, reproductive goals, and hormone care with a specialist.
