Understand the connection

TLR2 is a pattern-recognition receptor that helps immune cells detect components of microbes and damaged tissue. It often works with TLR1 or TLR6.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser follows TLR2 signaling through MyD88 and NF-κB into cytokine production. This connects the initial recognition of a trigger with inflammation, blood-vessel and joint research, and the antioxidant network.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask which result is being discussed: a genetic variant, a measured protein level, or a diagnosed condition. How does it fit with your symptoms and other tests? Dr. Purser discusses antioxidant support alongside these pathways; ask how any supplement would fit with your medicines and care plan.
