Understand the connection

Endometriosis involves tissue similar to the uterine lining outside the uterus. Inflammation, hormone signaling, and pain mechanisms can interact in complex ways.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser discusses cytokines in the pelvic environment, including IL-6, TNF-alpha, and IL-1 beta, alongside oxidative stress and immune-cell activity. His teaching considers antioxidant support in the wider discussion of pain and inflammatory pathways.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask which findings support the diagnosis and how pain, fertility goals, medicines, and surgical options fit together. Nutrient or cytokine discussions should complement the care plan chosen with your clinician.
