Understand the connection

Migraines involve nervous-system signaling and can include inflammatory processes. Dr. Purser discusses IL-6 as one signal within a wider network rather than the only cause of migraine.

Follow the pathway

His teaching connects cytokines, homocysteine, oxidative stress, and the trigeminal pain pathway. Conventional migraine discussions include triptans and CGRP-directed therapies; nutrient and antioxidant questions should be considered alongside the headache pattern and medical evaluation.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask which result is being discussed: a genetic variant, a measured protein level, or a diagnosed condition. How does it fit with your symptoms and other tests? Dr. Purser discusses antioxidant support alongside these pathways; ask how any supplement would fit with your medicines and care plan.
