Understand the connection

The folate cycle, methionine cycle, and transsulfuration pathway work together to move methyl groups and process homocysteine. Each route has a different purpose.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser’s pathway teaching includes MTHFR, SHMT, MTR/MTRR, BHMT, AHCY, CBS, and SUOX. Folate and B12 support remethylation; choline can provide betaine for the BHMT route. Transsulfuration connects homocysteine with cysteine and glutathione, and sulfur compounds pass through additional steps.

Bring these questions to your visit

Start by locating the gene or nutrient you want to understand, then follow the connected pathway in the interactive guides. Ask which measured findings make that connection relevant to you; a pathway drawing is not a dosing plan.
