This test result is bad and could indicate an infection, especially viral. This is a great test for those with A1298C and especially who are Homozygous A1298C. Neopterin is bad while biopterin is good. If neopterin is repeatedly high, the BH4 is low. Neopterin is a sensitive marker of cellular mediated immunity. Reduced levels reflect cellular immunity weakening. Increased neopterin occur with infectious, inflammatory, immune system dysfunction or neoplastic disease evolution. Excessive neopterin negatively impacts the Nitric Oxide pathway in the body (e.g. excessive peroxynitrite formation an

Most doctors run standard serum blood tests, see a "normal" nutrient level, and send you home. But measuring floating nutrients in your liquid serum is like looking at the paint on a house to see if the plumbing works inside. After reviewing over 40,000 advanced intracellular vitamin lab panels, the truth is clear: intracellular glutathione vs serum levels tell two entirely different stories. Your serum can look completely fine while your cells are completely depleted of the master antioxidant needed to protect your life. Wow I see all this almost every day in my office -- same exact thyroid related medical issues/complaints. After ten years of endocrinology research and 33 years in practice, I've concluded that a lot of my fellow doctors weren't really taught the nuances of thyroid care. Those include how patients need levels optimized, or how to really listen to patient's symptoms (and treat accordingly), and which labs to get at what time. So, I always tell patients to believe their ‘lying eyes’ (their symptoms are real), and not always the lab results (which can be inaccurate or not interpreted correctly).
