THE TEACHING CONNECTION

Start with the whole hormone picture

Start with the whole hormone picture

Start with what you want to understand or improve: sleep, energy, libido, fertility, comfort, or daily function. Pituitary signals, thyroid function, reproductive history, medicines, and nutrition can change what a hormone number means.

Putting the pieces together

Your clinician may compare production signals such as LH and FSH with the hormones made by the ovaries or testes. Total and free measurements, binding proteins, and when a sample was taken also matter. Your goals and safety monitoring help shape any treatment discussion.

A question to bring to your visit

What could explain the pattern upstream, how do my fertility goals affect options, and which measurements will guide follow-up?

Reading your own results

Bring your original report, current results, health history, and medicines to your visit. This information can help you ask questions, but it cannot diagnose a condition or choose a supplement dose for you.
