Understand the connection

Chronic inflammatory response syndrome, or CIRS, is a term used in some clinical discussions of persistent symptoms after environmental exposures. Symptoms and biomarkers can overlap with many other conditions.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser explores homocysteine, transsulfuration, glutathione, IL-8/CXCL8, CCL2/MCP-1, and NF-κB as a proposed immunometabolic framework. These connections help organize questions about exposure, inflammation, and antioxidant defenses without establishing a diagnosis from a gene pattern.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask what evidence supports an exposure-related condition and which alternative explanations have been assessed. Discuss the limitations of proposed biomarkers and how the plan will track meaningful changes in health.
